Molly is a super sweet 11 month old 9lb Pomeranian/chihuahua mix spayed female. She is a typical puppy and is very playful and outgoing. She loves to play with her doggy brothers and sisters and would do best in a home with another young dog friend. She is ok with cats but she does like to bark at them so she needs some help with her feline manners still. Molly also seems to enjoy children though I think she would do best with children over 5 years. She is still a puppy and will play using her teeth which might be hard on very young children. She is using a doggy door and is doing well with potty training but she is young and still needs reminders that while it may seem the same carpet is not grass. In a new home she will be confused so her new guardians will need to plan on spending a couple of weeks working on her potty training. Molly loves to go on walks and is a great hiking companion but shes not overly active. She will play for a couple of hours but shes also fine curling up next to you on the sofa and sleeping the day away. She has the cutest habit of laying her head on your lap while she sleeps. Shes very cuddly and has very soft fur and the most gentle eyes. Shes very smart and sensitive so it only takes the smallest of corrections to get your point across. If she feels like she's done something wrong she will crawl towards you on her belly wagging her tail and roll on her back so you can rub her tummy. You cant help but love this sweet little girl the moment you meet her!

He is all white with black ears and just a little black on the outside of his right eye. So Cute. He is such a precious little guy. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. Just wants to give loves and get loved in return. His kisses are ever so gentle. He is shy at first but he just needs to know you are not going to hurt him then he warms right up. Since he's been at his foster home he now paws to play and rolls over on his back when they get home from work. He's so dang excited to get out of his crate and get some scratches and tummy rubs. In the morning when everyone gets up he's all prancy and excited with good mornings. He can sit very pretty on his butt and beg for food. Smart, smart little man. He likes to play with his toys too. He is house trained. Uses a dog door. Has not had 1 accident in his foster home. He's wonderful. He was such a good boy to let us trim his mats; bath, brush and blow dry him when we got him from the shelter. He wants to be beautiful. He sleeps on a dog bed next to his foster's bed or sometimes on a comfy chair in the living room. He takes turns with the other dogs cuddling on the couch watching TV. Like our other older furkids, Matlock will make someone such a loving little companion. He should never have ended up in a shelter. These are the years for him to have nothing but comfort and security from 2 legged people for the rest of his life, which could very well be many, many years.

Mystery is a sensitive and loving cat. Mystery suffered a terrible loss when her previous owner could no longer take care of her. She became so despondent that she stopped eating and nearly died. She had to have surgery and have an esophageal tube inserted into her neck. She was fed through this tube until she could regain her strength and start eating on her own. The tube was removed a few weeks ago, she is back to eating on her own and she is doing great in her current foster home. She is an extremely loving cat who just wants to cuddle on your lap. Biscuit was taken from Salt Lake County Animal Services to the Vet Tech School. While there he tested <A HREF='http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/felv.html' target='new'>FeLV+</a>. The vet felt he was much, much too sweet to be put down and immediately rescued him through CAWS. Biscuit earned his name quickly. The first night in his foster home he was so excited to be petted he would roll on his back and make biscuits in the air. Wrigley was originally rescued from the Tooele shelter in May 2008. They had picked her up as a stray & no one came to claim this beautiful girl. She became very sick with an upper respiratory infection while at the shelter so we are just now able to show her. This girl is an awesome cat. While she was sick she ended up with half the medicine on her head - you would go towards her with the medicine & she'd rub her head against your hand, silly Wrigley. Wrigley LOVES to be petted. When you start petting her she flops over so you can pet her stomach. She has beautiful markings and gorgeous satiny gray fur. Wrigley was adopted last year but recently returned after her owners divorced. She was okay with a laid back cat that would give her some space after a patient introduction. Scotty is an awesome cat. He was found at a volunteer's feral site and had truly not been doing well on his own in the wild. He tested positive for both <A HREF='http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/fiv.html' target='new'>FIV</a> & <A HREF='http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/felv.html' target='new'>FeLV</a> which means his life span is most likely not going to exceed a few years, though we can never know for sure. In addition, he had three broken canine's and at some point had suffered from earmites so severe they resulted in hematoma's and cauliflower ears. He was recently diagnosed with asthma and currently receives a puff on his inhaler twice a day. Scotty is SO grateful to now be safely indoors and with a family. Scotty loves to be in whatever room you are in and will follow you around the house, he is rarely more than a few feet away. He enjoys scratches & pets. Scotty is one of the most devoted companion's you could ever find. Annabelle was adopted from CAWS in 2003. We recently received an email from her adopter saying he was out of town and his girlfriend was going to dump Annabelle at the Humane Society. CAWS acted fast and found a place for this sweet baby immediately. Annabelle is struggling to understand why she has been abandoned after so many years but doesn't let that stop her, she is so affectionate and loves everyone including kids, cats and dogs. The girlfriend who displaced Annabelle said she has IBD. Taboo, is a 6 year old tortie. At first she looks all black because her face is but as you look down her body you see the tortie. She is a darling, mysterious girl who found herself alone after having been adopted four years ago from CAWS. A kind woman had been feeding her but then turned her in to the shelter and she found her way back to us. After being outside for at least six months she showed no fear of people. Almost the moment we got her home she was out saying hi to us and purring. She is not a big fan of the dogs but if they leave her alone she is fine. The other cats in her current foster home are not fond of her but she did well with other cats before and we think she would do well with cat-friendly cats again. While she doesn't like to be held much (at least in our house with all the dogs) she loves to snuggle and will sleep with you. Rarely does she stop purring. At the end of the Fall Super Adoption event Zariah sat in her cage and watched anxiously as the no-kill rescue groups scrambled from cage to cage to save those shelter kitties who had not found their forever home. Most of the groups there were looking at the big picture, which is to save as many lives as possible, and therefore were choosing the youngest, most outgoing and friendly cats. Zariah was five years old, terrified of being in a cage, not fond of other cats, and too nervous to show her personality in such a hectic environment. She wondered if any of the groups would focus on the "little" picture, her individual life that could be saved, even if she wasn't likely to be adopted out as quickly. Fortunately for Zariah a CAWS volunteer did notice her, and marked her cage as saved. Zariah could breathe a sigh of relief, but only for a short while. Although Zariah no longer has to worry about her survival, she does need to find her forever home. Zariah is hoping a special person will notice her just one more time and appreciate her unique personality, full of sauce, spunk and life. Zariah loves food, scratches, loves, and her favorite sleeping spot under the computer monitor. She still isn't fond of cages, they remind her too much of the traumatizing days when she was abandonded by her family, but would love to meet a potential adopter in her foster home. Precious was abandoned by neighbors as a very young cat. Her face is half black and half white (Two face was her previous name) with hazel cat eyes. Her body and tail are black with a white underbelly and paws. She loves to eat and her weight is currently appropriate for her size. She knows that food comes from the fridge and will sit near it in hopes of getting some treat (peice of fish, chicken or her favorite thing deli meat & cheese). She is fed only cat food- when she was younger the kids would sneak deli meat when they made their sandwiches for school and that is how she knows about the fridge storing 'goodies.' She doesn't like to be held much but enjoys being brushed and will sit on your lap or next to you often. She will also lie on her back and sleep paws out, belly up and knead in the air when you sratch her tummy. She is very lovable and plays chasing a string or sticks moving in the grass. Precious is a mellow cat and not aggressive in any way. She loves to sleep at the foot of a bed and has her own cat bed. Both Precious and Rosey are good friends - Rosey is protective of her larger cat freind Precious. Some cats just weren't meant to live on the streets. Take Tough Guy. He was living in an industrial park with a group of strays, but nobody had taught him to look both ways before crossing the street. Fortunately he survived being hit by a car (twice), and after finally being trapped by CAWS volunteers now has the safety of a foster home to call his own. He is shy at first, but soon becomes an adorable and attentive lap cat who is just loving his new-found comforts. He doesn't cook or do the dishes, but he's a very polite and handsome gentleman who will always be there for you through thick and thin, and will happily discuss your day when you get home from work. The four month old kitten could barely move. The severe upper respiratory infection would have killed her, but she had not yet used her nine lives. Found by a CAWS volunteer, she was taken home and quickly nursed back to health. During that time she found a best friend in Tough Guy, who made sure she was loved by a feline as well as a human. I was abandoned at a hair salon. I was scared, alone and pregnant. It was on a Tuesday that I was rescued and the name has stuck. Shortly after, I went into labor but the babies wouldn't come. A kind vet worked late into the night performing an emergency c-section that saved the lives of me and my kittens. I am a total love bug. I enjoy snuggling on the couch, chasing furry mice toys, and being petted. I am a very young mom probably around a year old. Being just a youngster myself, I really enjoy running around the house playing with my babies. My foster mom says that I have the most beautiful tufted ears that she has ever seen. And my tail?! You will be hard pressed to see a bushier, prettier tail. My fur is silky and soft. My foster home has friendly dogs and parrots. I get along with all of them. Dashette was rescued as a feral from my worksite. She was hungry, scared, dirty, skinny, and had an obvious eye injury. She was quickly treated at a local vet. Once home, she would hiss when she was scared, but was very easy to handle and medicate. Shortly after some petting, she would start to purr. Today, she runs around my house, playing with her toys. She finally stopped hissing at our dogs, and gets along well with all our cats. Dashette loves all sorts of toys, and will entertain herself, and anyone watching her, with her playful antics. When she's not in play-mode, she loves to be petted and held, or nestled in your lap, purring. Hi, I'm Comet, and my sister's name is Cupid. She and I almost died last winter, because our family had their home foreclosed on, and threw us out in the cold. We survived by neighbors feeding us but when CAWS finally rescued us we were both in very bad shape. At first we were frightened of her, because of our PTSD, but now we've started to feel safe around her. He thinks he is funny when he doesn't move when you walk around him or when you open a door. He is a super sweet boy. Kiana is a CAWS diamond in the rough. She was born in a truck yard and lived there for 1 1/2 years but is now enjoying her life as an indoor kitty. She presented herself to a business across from the truck yard this summer and trained everyone to come out and feed her whenever she felt it was necessary (about 3 cans a day was her minimum). Once her kittens were found and caught (she nursed them for 3 months) we brought her inside & she is doing great. She enjoys being petted but when she is ready to stop she will still hiss or give your a pop. She is getting much better but she doesn't have all of her sweet kitty manners in place yet & should probably not be around young children. She will probably need to take medication for the rest of her life. Lady is blind in one eye, and does not have much sight left in the other, but she gets around very well. Fatty is an adorable, not-so-fat, four-year-old tabby who is curious and playful. He would like to be adopted with his brother, George. Fatty is a good jumper and likes to climb to the highest place he can get to. He responds well to a soft voice and a gentle touch, but will run away and hide if he is treated harshly or feels threatened. He can be extremely loving, on his terms, and gentleness toward him will be greatly rewarded by his love and trust. George is a solid, friendly four-year-old black-and-white who is just as curious and playful as his brother, Fatty, whom he would like to be adopted with. George isn't as much of a jumper and climber as Fatty. The two of them like to play hide and pounce; George hides, Fatty darts here and there trying to find him, then George pounces. Another one of George's favorite games is rub and nibble; you rub him, and he nibbles you! He shows his affection by gently nibbling, so if you feel some teeth touching your hands or arms when George is near, don't be alarmed, but rather feel honored that he loves you enough to show it in that way. I do enjoy chasing and catching those cat tease wand toys. They're awesome! Of course, from my photo, you can see I'm very beautiful. I don't like dogs, those noisy, drooly, clumsy goofballs. Most other cats are beneath me, but I do tolerate some cats. I get along best with kitties that stand up for themselves. If another cat runs or cowers, then I have fun mercilessly teasing them. One kitty learned that if he just stands his ground, I'll back right down and be good. He's no fun anymore!<br>I'm very much a "people" kitty, really. Even though I'm a little Princess, (and if I don't like something, I'll complain about what a hard life I have), but I'm a good girl and don't struggle or scratch or bite. It's just that I can be very vocal in disagreement at times. My foster mom actually thinks it's cute when I complain! There's just no respect for royalty around here.<br>I'm still waiting for my "forever" family to come take me home, and lavish me with the attention I deserve. My foster mom refers to me as sweet, amazing Grace. I was brought injured into the shelter where I gave birth to my kittens. Then our luck changed when CAWS found us a foster home. A trip to the vet showed that my shoulder was badly shattered probably due to being kicked or hit by a car. With tiny babies to nurse, I only could take a small dosage of pain meds. But even with the pain and inability to move well, I lovingly cared for my kittens. <br>Once my kittens were weaned, I was able to have my much need surgery to remove my bad front leg. I still get around really well and I have excellent litter box habits. <br>I have learned to live with cats and dogs but can be a little hissy with them. Heidi is a beautiful cat! She is so soft and sleek. Heidi is very easy-going. She does well with all the other cats in her foster home but seems to be happiest when she is cuddled with her foster mom. She is so gorgeous! Heidi would do well in a home with children. She hasn't been exposed to dogs yet but would probably adjust to gentle, cat-friendly dogs after a proper introduction. This handsome guy is Woody. He is a gorgeous gray and white boy who comes complete with his own formal tuxedo and spats! Woody is 4 1/2 years old, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccinations.<br>Woody was found in a feral colony of cats when he was about 10 weeks old. Because of his sweet and loving nature, he was rescued and is now ready to find a permanent home. Woody is a shy guy and will take some time to warm up and feel comfortable in his new home, but once he decides you're ok and not so scary, he's a real charmer.<br>Woody would be great as an only cat or with another buddy who is also kind of shy and quiet. He loves canned cat food and can be coaxed out of his cat bed at the sound of a can being opened. He would prefer a quiet, adults-only home because he's not great with a lot of noise and commotion.<br>Woody has wonderful house manners and uses his litter box like a true gentleman. Mandy & Felix were so happy when they were rescued in the fall of 2007. Although a bit nervous about their new surroundings after living as ferals, they quickly showed their appreciation for a warm & comfortable home with plenty of food. They absolutely love each other and are seen snuggling, grooming and just enjoying one another's attention, they would never want to be separated. However, Mandy & Felix can not understand why nobody has come to offer them a forever home after years of waiting, showing at adoption events, and wondering when their turn will come. Their sensitive souls are hoping for that one person who will overlook the fact a cage is scary and loud noises will startle them. If that one special person will take them home, they will show their grattitude by snuggling next to them while they watch television and gaze at them appreciatively while being petted. She is a petite girl who likes to be close. Princess is very attached to her brother Baby Boy (Cody). They snuggle in a little cat house at night and most days are spent together. If they don't both fit in a bed Princess will lay right on top of Cody and he will purr like crazy. These two need to be adopted together. Princess is very well mannered and knows how to mind gentle, firm command, and will even remind you when it is time to have snacks or for them to go downstairs for the night.
