By the time he had been dropped off and examined by a vet the femur was in the healing stages. The veterinarian took him in and placed him with CAWS. He was kept in cage confinement and received continued treatment. Now, he is ready for adoption! He is a very sweet, corny boy who loves other cats and seems to be both a lover and a joker.

He was found at a volunteer's feral site and had truly not been doing well on his own in the wild. He tested positive for both FIV & FeLV which means his life span is most likely not going to exceed a few years, though we can never know for sure. In addition, he had three broken canine's and at some point had suffered from earmites so severe they resulted in hematoma's and cauliflower ears. He was recently diagnosed with asthma and currently receives a puff on his inhaler twice a day. Scotty is SO grateful to now be safely indoors and with a family. Scotty loves to be in whatever room you are in and will follow you around the house, he is rarely more than a few feet away. He enjoys scratches & pets. Scotty is one of the most devoted companion's you could ever find. He is excellent with his FeLV+ cat friends and is looking for a home that will love and pamper him.

Annabelle is struggling to understand why she has been abandoned after so many years but doesn't let that stop her, she is so affectionate and loves everyone including kids, cats and dogs. The girlfriend who displaced Annabelle said she has IBD. This seems to be under control as long as she remains on a high quality diet.

At first she looks all black because her face is but as you look down her body you see the tortie. She is a darling, mysterious girl who found herself alone after having been adopted four years ago from CAWS. A kind woman had been feeding her but then turned her in to the shelter and she found her way back to us. After being outside for at least six months she showed no fear of people. Almost the moment we got her home she was out saying hi to us and purring. She is not a big fan of the dogs but if they leave her alone she is fine. The other cats in her current foster home are not fond of her but she did well with other cats before and we think she would do well with cat-friendly cats again. While she doesn't like to be held much (at least in our house with all the dogs) she loves to snuggle and will sleep with you. Rarely does she stop purring. Taboo is sweet and independent but knows where to go to get loves.

Most of the groups there were looking at the big picture, which is to save as many lives as possible, and therefore were choosing the youngest, most outgoing and friendly cats. Zariah was five years old, terrified of being in a cage, not fond of other cats, and too nervous to show her personality in such a hectic environment. She wondered if any of the groups would focus on the 'little' picture, her individual life that could be saved, even if she wasn't likely to be adopted out as quickly. Fortunately for Zariah a CAWS volunteer did notice her, and marked her cage as saved. Zariah could breathe a sigh of relief, but only for a short while. Although Zariah no longer has to worry about her survival, she does need to find her forever home. Zariah is hoping a special person will notice her just one more time and appreciate her unique personality, full of sauce, spunk and life. Zariah loves food, scratches, loves, and her favorite sleeping spot under the computer monitor. She still isn't fond of cages, they remind her too much of the traumatizing days when she was abandonded by her family, but would love to meet a potential adopter in her foster home. Zariah is remaining optimistic and trusts there is a place for her in one, special loving home.

Precious is a mellow cat and not aggressive in any way. She loves to sleep at the foot of a bed and has her own cat bed. Both Precious and Rosey are good friends - Rosey is protective of her larger cat freind Precious. They would like to be adopted together.

That was when our family took her in to our home to foster. It has taken her about a month to fully trust us and understand that we love her and wont hurt her. Baby Boy, aka Cody, is a warm and affectionate cat. He is that interesting combination of laid-back, easy-going, and very playful. Not much seems to phase this boy once he's comfy in your house. He just LOVES toys and will always bring you his favorites to share. Once Cody feels at home -- he's a bit shy to start -- he is very cuddly and loves to nuzzle and kiss. Cody has no need to be the alpha kitty. He is great with other kitties, and LOVES his sister, Princess. They snuggle in a little cat house at night and most days are spent together. He adores his sister and will let her sleep right on top of him while he purrs away. Cody is good with kids over 5. He's never been around dogs or younger children. He has been living in a one-person quiet household his whole life so he is a bit uneasy at PetSmart.

Although he seems normal on the outside he is not normal on the inside. Dolomite has a disease called stomatitis. Because of this we thought it would be best for him to have all of his teeth pulled. He can live a perfectly normal happy life on canned cat food. Now all he needs is a home that will love him for the awesome cat he is. My foster mom says that I have a 'Princess' attitude. Not sure what that means, but I always seem to get my way. (Maybe that's what it means!) I'm a great little companion, with a cute purrrsonality. I love relaxing on a warm lap. (They make the best heating pads!) Being a little Princess, I don't waste my time hunting dirty little rodents. After all, they haven't even bathed yet! I do enjoy chasing and catching those cat tease wand toys. They're awesome! Of course, from my photo, you can see I'm very beautiful. I don't like dogs, those noisy, drooly, clumsy goofballs. Most other cats are beneath me, but I do tolerate some cats. I get along best with kitties that stand up for themselves. If another cat runs or cowers, then I have fun mercilessly teasing them. One kitty learned that if he just stands his ground, I'll back right down and be good. He's no fun anymore!
I'm very much a 'people' kitty, really. Even though I'm a little Princess, (and if I don't like something, I'll complain about what a hard life I have), but I'm a good girl and don't struggle or scratch or bite. It's just that I can be very vocal in disagreement at times. My foster mom actually thinks it's cute when I complain! There's just no respect for royalty around here.
I'm still waiting for my 'forever' family to come take me home, and lavish me with the attention I deserve. In return, I'll warm your hearts and your laps, and bring joy into your lives, as my foster mom says I've brought into hers. Then our luck changed when CAWS found us a foster home. A trip to the vet showed that my shoulder was badly shattered probably due to being kicked or hit by a car. With tiny babies to nurse, I only could take a small dosage of pain meds. But even with the pain and inability to move well, I lovingly cared for my kittens.
Once my kittens were weaned, I was able to have my much need surgery to remove my bad front leg. I still get around really well and I have excellent litter box habits.
I have learned to live with cats and dogs but can be a little hissy with them. However, my foster mom says I am getting better as I have started to recover from my surgery.

Woody was found in a feral colony of cats when he was about 10 weeks old. Because of his sweet and loving nature, he was rescued and is now ready to find a permanent home. Woody is a shy guy and will take some time to warm up and feel comfortable in his new home, but once he decides you're ok and not so scary, he's a real charmer.
Woody would be great as an only cat or with another buddy who is also kind of shy and quiet. He loves canned cat food and can be coaxed out of his cat bed at the sound of a can being opened. He would prefer a quiet, adults-only home because he's not great with a lot of noise and commotion.
Woody has wonderful house manners and uses his litter box like a true gentleman. Once he feels comfortable with you, he loves to be picked up and cuddled and he's a warm, cozy TV watching buddy.

Although a bit nervous about their new surroundings after living as ferals, they quickly showed their appreciation for a warm & comfortable home with plenty of food. They absolutely love each other and are seen snuggling, grooming and just enjoying one another's attention, they would never want to be separated. However, Mandy & Felix can not understand why nobody has come to offer them a forever home after years of waiting, showing at adoption events, and wondering when their turn will come. Their sensitive souls are hoping for that one person who will overlook the fact a cage is scary and loud noises will startle them. If that one special person will take them home, they will show their grattitude by snuggling next to them while they watch television and gaze at them appreciatively while being petted. Mandy & Felix would be happy to share a home with other cats, they simply want a loving home where they will be safe and cared for.

Little Girl (aka Princess) is a very curious, affectionate cat who will follow you around the house. She is a petite girl who likes to be close. Princess is very attached to her brother Baby Boy (Cody). They snuggle in a little cat house at night and most days are spent together. If they don't both fit in a bed Princess will lay right on top of Cody and he will purr like crazy. These two need to be adopted together. Princess is very well mannered and knows how to mind gentle, firm command, and will even remind you when it is time to have snacks or for them to go downstairs for the night. She is great with children over 5 but has never been around dogs.
