This Is For All The Homeless Pets One of our volunteers, Bob DeLong, wrote a poem that asks some very important questions about how we as humans deal with animals. He is making the poem available to the public, printed on a specially-printed page. If you'd like a printed copy of his poem, send email to cawsdotorg@aol.com. All he asks is that you make a small donation to CAWS. The page, suitable for framing, is 8½" x 11". Frame not included. Please do not re-distribute this poem without Bob's or CAWS' express permission.

Thank you for visiting, and enjoy Bob's poem.

This is for all the homeless pets
All the cats and the dogs too
Where they come from we don't know
Where they come from, well, I’ll tell you

When we see a homeless pet
It should sort of make us cry
What we do to our pets is shameful
What we do to them is lie

We tell them that we love them
We say we'll never leave
Then we move and leave them behind
All they can do then is grieve

We try to find them a new home
Where it is, we don't know yet
We want to make sure it's safe and warm
And the love they'll receive is a sure bet

So when you see a homeless pet
Won't you stop and give them a hand
All we ask is that you find the time
Are you willing to take a stand

They can't ask you themselves
So give them a piece of your heart
A good home is all they want
Please give them a brand new start.
